Read more about John and Jules who have been chosen as participants of the month for November.
Participant of the Month (Community): John
John's thirst for knowledge shines through his Social activities and electives. He's currently delving into history, exploring the world of video games, and immersing himself in the world of music biopics. One staff aptly describes his attitude: "John always has a positive attitude and is always willing to help his peers. He does a great job with his work and is a joy to be around!"
One of the standout reasons for John's recognition is his outstanding role as an MICC Ambassador for the Office of Admissions. John welcomes prospective students and families with open arms. He supports campus tours, participates in Q&A panels during Preview Days, and engages with Shadow Day activities. As one staff member puts it, "He goes above and beyond to present himself professionally, speak honestly and concisely, and be overall positive and welcoming."
John's infectious positivity is evident to all who know him. He's always ready to lend a helping hand to his peers, consistently contributing to a positive atmosphere on campus. Another staff member aptly notes, "John is so pleasant to see on campus at all times! He helps to keep our spaces clean and does so with a smile and a chat. John is a true treasure at MICC!"
John's resilience extends beyond his program engagement and ambassadorial pursuits. Even when faced with the challenge of finding a football game on TV, he perseveres with determination and a sense of humor.
John’s journey at MICC is a testament to the power of determination, positivity, and community engagement. We are proud to have him as part of our MICC family, and we celebrate his well-deserved recognition as the Community Program Participant of the Month. Congratulations, John!
Participant of the Month (College): Jules
When it comes to classes, electives, and socials, Jules is all in! She enthusiastically enjoys activities like "Food with Friends" and "Kairos Alive." Her zest for learning extends beyond MICC’s borders, as she has a deep fascination with the continent of Europe and its rich cultural tapestry, with a special interest in Hungary (Magyarország) and Poland (Polska). Moreover, Jules is an avid traveler and outdoors enthusiast, who finds solace and joy in hiking and everything related to the great outdoors.
Jules has been recognized by both peers and staff for her remarkable resilience. During a camping trip, she showcased her adaptability and flexibility. Moreover, her positive attitude during practicum experiences left a lasting impression on everyone. A staff member rightfully cheers, "Jules has grown so much in a year! She has become a real leader on campus."
Indeed, Julia's growth extends beyond personal resilience. She's emerged as a leader on campus, and her leadership qualities have been recognized by a local camp that eagerly anticipates her involvement next summer. Her commitment to respecting her peers and setting boundaries demonstrates her evolving sense of responsibility.
One of the standout reasons for Jules' recognition is her unwavering support for her peers. When she noticed a fellow student navigating a challenging situation, she didn't hesitate to step in, offering empathy, guidance, and a helping hand. Her actions exemplify the essence of responsibility and compassion.
In Jules' own words, her recognition stems from her selfless nature. “I put myself last to make sure other people isn’t going through tough situations alone. It doesn’t matter if I’m hurting or if I’m going through hard times; I can always talk to Jenn and Emily [MICC instructor and advisor] if I feel sad. I just want people to feel like they can be understood, loved, and cared for.” Her compassion knows no bounds, and she's always there to ensure that no one faces difficult situations alone.
Jules’ journey at MICC reflects the very essence of our community—where respect, responsibility, and resilience intersect. Congratulations, Jules!
