This year, we are excited to host our 18th Annual Gala, in-person at The Depot, Minneapolis and virtually, to engage attendees from near and far. Our casual and theme-based event will be grooving this year as we 'Come Together (Right Now for MICC)' in celebration of our new Social Engagement Program and the successes of our incredible participants.

You're invited to travel with us back to the 1960s and 1970s for a memorable, mission-filled night!

Funds raised from the Gala supports growth, improvement and program innovation. This year, MICC launched a new Social Program to broaden opportunities for College and Community participants, provide a more person-centered program and strengthen mentorship opportunities.

Please contact Trina Sletto, MICC’s Development Manager, at tsletto@miccommunity.org with any questions.

Health and Safety

We will be providing a hybrid event with the opportunity to attend in-person or engage virtually, which provides options for different comfort levels. To attend the gala in-person, each guest must provide proof of a full course of COVID-19 vaccination or proof of a negative COVID-19 test administered by a provider within the last 72 hours. Proof of vaccination or negative test must be shown upon arrival and must clearly match the guest’s ID.

Acceptable proof of full vaccination includes:
  • A physical card
  • A photo of a complete vaccination card
  • Digital immunization records such as Docket or Clear
Everyone 5 years and older is recommended to receive a primary series of a COVID-19 vaccine to be considered fully vaccinated (booster not required).
A variety of negative tests will be accepted, including:
  • Minnesota Department of Health (Vault)
  • An email from the guest’s testing provider
Please note screenshots and printouts of test results will not be accepted. Rapid at-home tests are not accepted.
What if I've had COVID-19 in the past 90 days?

If you recently recovered from COVID-19, you may instead attend with documentation of recovery from COVID-19 (i.e., your positive COVID-19 viral test result on a sample taken no more than 90 days before March 12, 2022, and a letter from a licensed healthcare provider or a public health official stating that you were cleared to attend).

We will be implementing additional measures to prioritize the health and safety of our in-person guests, such as:
  • Masks are strongly encouraged when guests are not actively drinking or eating.
  • Masks will be required for MICC staff, venue staff, vendor staff, and volunteers while not actively drinking or eating.
  • Auction items will be displayed online and not in-person allowing for more room in the event space (items will still be available for pickup at the event).
  • The ballroom will be open during the entirety of the event and tables will be spaced 6 feet apart.
  • Hand sanitizer will be available throughout the event space.

We greatly appreciate your cooperation as we work to provide a safe environment for all guests, participants, and staff.

Effective, August 1, 2018, Minnesota Life College changed its name to MICC., pronounced ‘em’ ‘eye’ ‘see’ ‘see’.
MICC stands for Minnesota Independence College and Community.

At MICC, the values of diversity, equity and inclusion are essential elements of our vibrant learning community. It is vital that everyone receives the tools to succeed and thrive regardless of neurodiversity, race, ethnicity, nationality, age, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, disability status or any other identity. We are committed to embracing diverse perspectives and creating a supportive environment for all to discuss, challenge, and explore how we can continuously enrich the MICC community.
