Welcome to your New Student Orientation resource site! This page will provide you with valuable information and resources, schedules, virtual orientation presentations, and contact information to best prepare you for the transition to MICC. We encourage students and families to review the information on this page together!

This page will be updated regularly with new information as we near move-in for incoming students on Friday, August 12th, so please check back often.

August Move-in and New Student Orientation

Schedule Overview for Incoming Students 

Friday, August 12th: 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM Staggered check-in and move-in (designated move-in times will be communicated on June 25th). Box lunch provided by MICC from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm. Students do not sleep on-campus until the evening of Sunday, August 14th.

Saturday, August 13th: 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM required orientation programming including a welcome from MICC Executive Director, Amy Gudmestad. Box lunch and snacks provided by MICC.

Sunday, August 14th: 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM required orientation programming concluding with a picnic and bulldog celebration (weather permitting). Dinner provided by MICC. Families depart at 6:00 PM.

Monday, August 15th: Classes begin. 

​Note: Meals provided will be suitable for all dietary needs.

Important Summer Dates

August 1-5
  • Students and families will receive communication directly from their assigned advisor. During the initial outreach, the advisor will review the student's fall class schedule and spend time reviewing the 2022-2023 College Program Participant Handbook.

August 12
  • Incoming student move-in (time pre-assigned)

August 13-14
  • New Student Orientation weekend programming (attendance required)
Note: students do not stay overnight in their apartments until Sunday, August 14. Please plan accordingly.

August 15
  • Classes begin!
