The developments related to COVID-19 are unprecedented. At MICC, we are focused on the safety and well being of our participants, families, and staff. Our Admissions Department will continue to accept applications and work with prospective students and their families both virtually and in-person at this time.
College Program Admission Steps.
Step 1. Schedule a Tour + Info Session
At this time, we have both virtual and in-person options to connect. If joining us for an in-person tour, masks for all individuals regardless of vaccinated status are strongly encouraged while inside MICC buildings. To self-schedule click here or in the widget below.
Virtual and in-person tours and information sessions are held weekdays between 9:00 am - 5:00 pm and last approximately 45 minutes. Sessions are one-on-one with a member of our admissions staff and includes a program overview and campus tour. Prospective students and families are encouraged to join together. We also welcome professionals who are curious about our programming, as well as groups up to 20.

Step 2. Apply online
- Complete the MICC College Program Admissions Application online. To get started, click the button below and then click "Register" to create an account to the admissions application portal.
Step 3. Upload required materials and have recommendations submitted
At the last step of the online application in the Applicant Portal, we require supplementary materials to be uploaded for the application to be considered complete. All required documentation must be submitted through the portal and will not be accepted by mail or email. Exceptions will only be made for documentation submitted by third-party providers.
The following documentation is required to complete your application. All required documentation must be received by the application deadline through the portal for a student's application to be reviewed by the Admissions Committee.
Two recommendations (MICC form; we do not ask for letters of recommendation) are required to be completed by professionals on the applicant's behalf. They may be completed by vocational professionals (supervisor, job coach etc.), educational professionals (teacher, instructor, school administrator), or general professionals (case manager, therapist, etc,). The recommendation form should be submitted directly by the professional by clicking the button below. Once submitted it will be linked to the applicant's file.

- Recent neuropsychological evaluation (within the last 3 years). Refer to the Guidelines for Disability Documentation for more information.
- IEP, Evaluation Plan, and/or Transition Plan

Step 4. In-person interview
The Admissions Committee will review complete applications and will do so within one week of receiving all of the required information/materials (includes the online application with uploaded documentation, $100 application fee, two recommendations received). Following this review, if appropriate, applicants will be contacted to schedule a virtual interview. Applicants may be requested to attend a shadow/class observation day on campus.

Applications received after April 1 may be reviewed on a rolling basis as space is available. Availability is not guaranteed. MICC does not rollover a wait list.
Requirements for Admission.
To be considered a candidate for the MICC College Program, it is required that the applicant:
It is recommended that the applicant be able to demonstrate:
- Be diagnosed with a learning disability, executive dysfunction, an autism spectrum disorder or other neurological disorder. Typical applicants will have a range of cognitive and processing abilities.
- Be between the ages of 18-26 years of age.
- Have completed their K-12 education.
- Have a Full Scale IQ of 70 or above, as documented on a neuropsychological evaluation. (Note MICC will factor in test anxiety, as documented or reported).
- Not require 24-hour supervision and be able to make safe decisions, as reported in applicant’s application.
- Not have a history of criminal activity that would preclude them from obtaining employment, as reported in applicant’s application.
It is recommended that the applicant be able to demonstrate:
- A high degree of interest and/or open mind regarding participating in MICC programs, as reported.
- Appropriate decision making to allow participation in a comprehensive apartment-living and community-based program, as well as respond well to a structured and supported environment, as reported.
- Evidence of ability to volunteer or be employed in a work setting with minimal supervision/training, as reported.
- A history of good citizenship and the ability to accept and follow rules, as reported.
- Sufficient emotional and behavioral stability and impulse control to live independently function socially, and participate in MICC, as reported.
- An involved support network, with realistic goals, recognition of the importance of communication and cooperation and who supports the goals and philosophy of the program.
